Armenia is our home.
There is a big fire in our house. Part of the house has already burned down before our eyes. There are even bigger fires nearby, and they are approaching one after another. There is a very strong wind outside, and the fire can flare up ten times bigger at any moment.
Everyone sees the fire: residents, neighbors, in villages and cities, both near and far. Everyone. The residents, driven by helplessness, look at the fire with indifference.
One of the older residents of the house suggests taking buckets and going to the nearest river for water to try to put out the fire.
Another resident asks: “What if we get hit by a car on the road, or if we get to the river and see that it has already dried up?”
The first resident says: “We can’t rule out that we will get hit by a car, or the river will dry up, or a thousand other things.” But the fact is that our house is burning before our eyes, and we are doing nothing. Until we try, we are not sure that we will not be able to put out the fire. And he asks a counter question: “If we do not go to the river for water, what do you suggest, how should we put out the fire?” Maybe you will suggest something more practical and smart?
The other says: “Let’s wait.” The fire may go out on its own, maybe a kind person will unexpectedly come and put out the fire. After all, in a year a fire truck will pass by these places, it passes here once every five years, we will each go for a bucket of water, all together we will turn into a barrel, bring it and put out the fire. True, last time we did not succeed, but this time we will definitely succeed.”
A counter question is heard: “Brother, somehow it is not convincing, firstly, why should some stranger come and put out the fire in our house instead of us?” Or maybe by the time the fire truck arrives, our house will have already burned to the ground, and we, along with all the other residents, will end up in hospitals and cemeteries. After all, last time we couldn’t even get a barrel of water. How can we be so sure that it will work this time? Let’s try another option. Waiting is not an option either.
Answer: Can’t you see that my hands are burned by fire, both of my friend’s legs have already been amputated due to burns, my toys and clothes are burned, and so on. Better go and let’s burn together, at least let’s cry together, you say, let’s go get water and put out the fire. Shame. Shame.
Answer: Brother, dear, I am also burning, our pain is common, I started burning before you, but becoming a martyr, crying and grieving is not a way out. Overcome yourself, see a fire in the house, move, go get some water and try to put it out. Even if it turns out that the river really has dried up, won’t the result be the same – the house will burn down, and we will remain in it? But let’s at least try to save our house, try to save ourselves and be saved. If it doesn’t work, let’s go back and wait with a bucket in our hand for 2026. The fire truck will try to drain the water from the fire truck again. In the meantime, there are no questions: let’s burn together and wait. Let’s burn and wait. Let’s burn and not have time to wait for a minute.
Deep silence…
Maybe we don’t know something. What we see is illogical.
