Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin presented the main priorities for the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), highlighting food and energy security, development of transport and logistics infrastructure. as well as expanding the presence of the Union countries in foreign markets. According to Mishustin, EAEU is one of the leaders in the world in terms of food safety indicators. The level of self-sufficiency of the Union member countries in terms of food exceeds 93%. The next step should be the expansion of mutual trade and the promotion of the creation of new enterprises in the agro-industrial complex. In the field of transport and logistics, the priority is to increase the capacity of the existing routes and the volume of cargo transportation. In that context, the Nevel-Gatchina railway section was included in the list of priority projects, with the possibility of connecting to the seaports of the north-west of Russia in the future. Another important direction is the acceleration of the transition to electronic document circulation at sea checkpoints. Regarding energy security, Mishustin emphasized that one of the advantages of EAEU is the low prices of energy carriers for the members of the union. According to him, the development of competition and increasing the transparency of cross-border trade will contribute to the creation of more favorable conditions for businesses and citizens, as well as more efficient use of energy generating capacities. . One of the other priorities of EAEU development is the expansion of the presence of products of the member countries in foreign markets and the reduction of customs barriers for companies. According to Mishustin, the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and African states are showing interest in cooperation with EAEU. At the same time, negotiations are underway with India and Tunisia on the establishment of free trade zones. "Together, we continue to ensure the implementation of the "Eurasian Economic Path" declaration approved by our presidents," stated Mikhail Mishustin.
