Artsakh Armed Forces Colonel Grigory Gasparyan Dies

Today, May 2, Colonel Grigory Surenovich Gasparyan, a resident of the village of Sarusheni (later Stepanakert) in the Askeran region, passed away. This was reported by the Berd Facebook page.

He was born in 1953 in the city of Baku. In 1988, he moved to Artsakh and actively participated in Artsakh’s struggle for existence.

1993-95 – commander of the “Sarushen” company. Then he was appointed to the post of chief of the fire service of the NKR State Emergency Service.

He was awarded the NKR Combat Cross of the 2nd degree and medals.

“He was a very friendly, kind and, most importantly, honest person, and everyone respected him.” Grigory Gasparyan, unable to bear the pain of losing Artsakh, died untimely in the city of Krasnodar, Russia. On behalf of the Armenians of Artsakh, we express our support to his relatives, fellow villagers and fellow citizens. “May the Lord keep his soul in the light,” the obituary published reads.
