Against the backdrop of Russia’s strikes on the facilities of the Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR in Ukraine, Baku should lift the ban on arms sales to Ukraine, said Azerbaijani MP Rasim Musabekov.
“Now they do not need to make any additional requests or statements. I think we can lift the ban on arms sales to Ukraine, and this step should be taken. We must act regardless of Russia’s statements. Russian weapons captured during the war with Armenia can be sold to Ukraine. Our army in Nakhichevan has completely switched to Turkish weapons, so there is a sufficient number of armored vehicles left there. There are Grad launchers and other equipment that no longer needs to be stored. This equipment can be sent for sale to Ukraine. Ukraine once sold us Soviet weapons. Azerbaijan was supplied with both tanks and MiG-29 fighters.
I don’t see any problem with Azerbaijan, in turn, selling Ukraine Soviet weapons at reduced prices, which we no longer need. Moreover, European countries are happy to pay for this money. No additional explanations are needed: who likes it, who doesn’t like it, who doesn’t like it – it makes no difference,” Musabekov said.
