Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is ready to fulfill one of the demands of US President Donald Trump — to sign a minerals agreement that would give the US access to Ukraine’s resources. This was reported by BBC News correspondent Laura Kuenssberg, who, along with other British journalists, spoke with Zelensky at London’s Stansted Airport on the evening of March 2.
“He will not apologize to Trump or express regret about what happened in the Oval Office, which the US president’s camp has repeatedly called for at this point,” the journalist said. She noted that during his conversation with the media, “there was nothing in Zelensky’s tone that would indicate his interest in making peace.”
Zelensky told reporters that he had traveled a long way to get to the White House — and his visit was a sign of respect. The Ukrainian president added that he would never “offend anyone,” and that what happened in the White House did not benefit either side.
