Biden expresses hope for end to ‘centuries of conflict’ between Armenia, Azerbaijan

Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: US President Joe Biden, who is enjoying the last days of his office, has made another funny statement. This time, the US president expressed hope for an end without delay to the “centuries of conflict” between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

He literally told [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev: “I am pleased to see that your nation and Armenia have made steady progress toward finalizing a peace agreement that would normalize relations between your two countries. I want to assure you that the United States stands ready to support a durable and dignified peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia that would finally put to rest centuries of conflict.”

Above all, attention is drawn here to what Biden called the “centuries of conflict” combination. Perhaps one should be glad that the US president did not say “millennia of conflict.” Well, that’s to be expected from a greeter of imaginary persons. And it is possible that the “centuries of conflict” combination is one of the above-mentioned manifestations of outgoing Biden. Otherwise, how can the conflict with Azerbaijan, which has a history of barely 100 years, be centuries old?

But on the other hand, the US president has a whole series of assistants and advisers. Not to mention that such letters are usually only signed by the presidents, the text is prepared by the aforementioned assistants and staff, in general. And if such nonsense was written under those conditions, then the matter is much more serious. Everyone pursues their own interests; the US, too. And here it is necessary to understand where the interests of Armenia are.
