Brent rises to $73.27 per barrel

Oil prices are rising on Monday amid weak trading activity before the Christmas holidays.

February Brent futures rose on the London ICE Futures exchange by $0.33 (0.45%), to $73.27 per barrel. On Friday, Brent fell by $0.06 (0.1%), to $72.94 per barrel.

February WTI futures rose on electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange NYMEX by $0.38 (0.55%), to $69.84 per barrel. Over the previous session, the contract rose by $0.08 (0.1%), to $69.46 per barrel.

Over the past week, Brent fell by 2.1%, WTI – by 1.9%.
