Brussels confirms EU’s intention to continue work on sanctions against Russia

The EU believes that anti-Russian sanctions are having the desired effect for Brussels and intends to continue to apply them, said Anitta Hipper, spokesperson for EU Foreign Minister Kaja Kallas.

“That is why we continue to do even more, continue to work on the 17th sanctions package and support Ukraine,” the spokesperson said at a briefing in Brussels on Monday.

When asked whether the new sanctions would take into account military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK, Kallas’ representative replied: “We cannot say anything at this point, because this is a matter for the competence of member states, and all relevant work is confidential.”
