The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is a nuclear facility monitored by the UN and the IAEA, stated Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
“This is a nuclear facility monitored by the UN and the IAEA,” he told reporters, commenting on the situation surrounding the nuclear power plant.
Earlier, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported that a projectile had fallen on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, resulting in no casualties or material damage.
On the same day, Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation, clarified that the strike hit the area adjacent to the metrology service building located on the NPP’s industrial platform, in close proximity to an operating power unit.
There were no injuries among Rosatom personnel. The radiation level on the platform is within normal limits.
