During bilateral talks at the White House, the Canadian leader noted Trump’s influence on global affairs and economic stability.
“You hosted me and several of my colleagues a few months ago, and I said then, ‘You are a transformational president,'” Carney said in the Oval Office, to which Trump nodded. “And since then, the transformation of the economy, the unprecedented commitments of NATO partners, defense spending, peace from India and Pakistan to Azerbaijan and Armenia, the neutralization of Iran as a terrorist force—all of that has been important.”
