China has expressed deep concern over the situation in northwestern Syria and will support the country in its efforts to ensure national security and stability. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Monday, Xinhua reported. The Chinese diplomat made the statement at a regular press conference in response to a question related to the escalating tensions in Syria.
“As a country with friendly relations with Syria, China is ready to make active efforts to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the country,” Lin Jian said.
