Clashes between government and Kurdish forces erupted in Aleppo

On Monday, artillery clashes erupted in the Syrian city of Aleppo between Syrian central government forces and Kurdish forces, which, according to an agreement with Damascus, were supposed to be incorporated into the Syrian army by the end of the year, the BBC reported.
According to both sides, the exchange of fire left at least three people dead, all civilians, and 25 wounded.

“We hear artillery and mortar shells exploding. There are a lot of troops in most parts of Aleppo,” a local resident said.

The Syrian Democratic Forces, a Kurdish-led force backed by the US, also announced a ceasefire.

Earlier, each side accused the other of opening fire first, and that the attacks occurred at checkpoints in Kurdish areas of Aleppo. Both sides deny these accusations.
