The iPhone 16 Pro Max failed to take the top spot in DxOMark’s ranking of flagship smartphone main cameras, but it did succeed in another front-facing camera ranking, in which Apple’s top model took first place.

Among the advantages, DxOMark experts noted accurate exposure, wide dynamic range, high contrast, wide depth of field, high level of detail in both photo and video modes, natural bokeh effect in portrait mode.
Disadvantages include noise in photos and videos, white balance is not always accurate, and there are differences in sharpness between frames when recording videos while walking.
