Electric Networks of Armenia responds to the statement of the Office of the First President of the Republic of Armenia.

“Due to the power outage at the residence and office of the First President of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Electric Networks of Armenia reports that on March 15 of this year at 1:05 PM, cell No. 8 of the closed 6 kV distribution equipment of the Yerevan Hydroelectric Power Plant was disconnected, resulting in changes to the power supply circuit.

The reason for the outage was that the construction company of the Juventus Football Academy building, without the consent of the relevant departments of ENA CJSC, dismantled and demolished the academy building adjacent to the transformer substation, damaging the walls and roof of the transformer substation, which belongs to ENA.

Heavy rainfall damaged the electrical equipment and feeder cable of the transformer substation, as well as four ring circuit substations with their low-voltage electrical equipment and cable lines in the power supply circuit, which ultimately led to a large-scale local fire. Power outage.

Since then, six addresses (subscribers) served by this substation have been without power, including a private home and the office of the first President of the Republic of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

Yesterday, starting at 2:10 PM, damage was detected to the feeder cable from TE-1112 and the 400 kVA transformer, as well as a short circuit on the 0.4 kV side, which damaged the sectional divider in TE-1754 and the input load switch in TE-1753.

Due to new circumstances, the laboratory began searching for damaged cables at 3:40 PM, completing the search at 8:10 PM.

The company’s cable repair crews immediately began repairs, completing them early in the morning at 7:20 AM.

The Te-1112 was turned on at 7:20 AM, but other equipment at the substation is not operational. Power was disconnected due to an insulation resistance fault.

Intensive work is currently underway to increase the insulation resistance of equipment and materials, as well as to dry them.

Power supply to all six specified areas will be restored within a few hours.

We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused.
