Equipment in direct contact with food was difficult to clean and disinfect. Operations at the children’s kitchen in Kapan have been suspended.

Inspectors from the Syunik Regional Food Safety Control Center conducted a control inspection of the kitchen of the Kapan Preschool Educational Institution No. 5 and found violations of several sanitary and hygienic standards established by law.

In particular:

The catering establishment was not designed, constructed, and located in a manner that ensured proper maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection, prevented or minimized air pollution, provided hygienic working conditions, and prevented the accumulation of dirt;

Some parts of the floor, walls, and doors were in poor condition and were not made of waterproof, non-absorbent, washable, and disinfectable materials; ceilings were not constructed to prevent or minimize dirt accumulation, steam condensation, unwanted mold growth, and the potential for particle release;

Windows opening outward did not have mosquito nets that could be opened and cleaned;

Work surfaces and equipment in direct contact with food were not made of smooth, washable, non-corrosive materials, were not new, and were not easy to clean and disinfect.

By decision of the head of the food safety supervision agency, the production activities of the catering establishment, the kitchen, and “Kapan Preschool Educational Institution No. 5” (ANCO) are suspended.

The director of the organization has been instructed to take the necessary measures and bring the kindergarten’s kitchen into compliance with legal requirements.

The supervisory agency has set a deadline for rectifying the identified violations.
