European forces in Ukraine will be able to repel Russian weapons: German Chancellor

European forces in Ukraine, having received security guarantees from Europe and the United States, may resist Russian forces under certain circumstances. The guarantors will be obligated to push back Russian troops in the event of any ceasefire violation, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated, according to Reuters.

“We will ensure a demilitarized zone between the warring parties and, in particular, will also act against corresponding Russian incursions and attacks. We have not yet achieved this,” the German Chancellor said.

As a reminder, at a meeting of European leaders in Berlin on Monday, it was proposed to create a security force to ensure a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

The joint statement stated that the European-led force, with US support, will support the Ukrainian armed forces and ensure air and maritime security.
