In connection with the tragic event that occurred at the Surb Prkich Church in Charentsavan, a water blessing and sprinkling ceremony was held under the leadership of His Eminence Archbishop Arakel Karamyan, Primate of the Kotayk Diocese. The Holy and Immortal Liturgy was celebrated by the church’s spiritual pastor, Reverend Father Hamazasp Ageyan.
As a reminder, on October 11 at 2:02 PM, the Kotayk Regional Police Operations Center received a call from the Charentsavan Medical Center that an ambulance had transported 57-year-old Charentsavan resident Andranik G. from the church to the hospital, where he died. The information was forwarded to the Kotayk Regional Criminal Police Department, the Charentsavan Police Department, and the patrol service. Police also reported that, according to preliminary data, the suspect in the murder is a 26-year-old man, registered at a psychiatric hospital, who stabbed a 57-year-old man, a relative, who was saying goodbye to the deceased in church. The 26-year-old man has been detained.
