The French National Assembly (lower house of parliament) has rejected a no-confidence motion against Sebastien Le Corneille’s government. This is confirmed by the results of the vote.
“The necessary majority was not gathered and the motion was rejected,” National Assembly Speaker Yael Bron-Piven said after the vote.
271 members of parliament voted in favor of the government’s resignation, while 289 votes were needed to pass a no-confidence vote.
