Hamas has suspended the release of captives, citing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reported.
A Hamas military spokesman said the release of prisoners held in the Gaza Strip has been postponed “until further notice” due to Israeli violations of the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
According to Today in Israel, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said to that effect:
“This statement is a complete violation of the ceasefire agreement and the hostage release deal. I have ordered that the IDF be placed on the highest level of readiness for any possible development in Gaza and for the defense of the population centers. We will not allow a return to the reality of October 7.
