Hegseth Threatens Iran with Consequences for Aiding Yemen’s Houthis

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Iran will be held accountable for aiding Yemen’s Houthis from the rebel movement Ansar Allah.

“Message to Iran: We see your lethal support for the Houthis. We know exactly what you are doing. You know full well what the United States military is capable of – and you have been warned,” he wrote in X.

“There will be consequences for you at a time and place of our choosing,” the Pentagon chief added.

On March 15, the United States began launching massive strikes against Houthi targets, which control about a third of Yemen’s territory. According to US Central Command, the operation is aimed at protecting American interests and ensuring freedom of navigation. In response, Ansar Allah has been regularly attacking the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the northern Red Sea with missiles and drones.
