Henrik Danielyan’s message on protecting the role and dignity of teachers

In Armenia, teachers should be the center of special attention and respect from the state. As a role model in shaping generations, transmitting national values and laying the foundations of public morality, the teacher has a unique mission to shape the future citizen of the state.
Any actions or rhetoric aimed at humiliating the dignity of teachers, belittling their public reputation or attacking them are unacceptable and deserve strong condemnation. Such phenomena contradict both the national value system and the long-term development strategy of the state.
It is regrettable to note that in recent years, as a result of the policies of the current authorities in the public sphere, the foundations of traditional respect and trust in education and teachers have been undermined. Pashinyan’s moral principles aimed at dismantling the value system have led to the degradation of public attitudes, a painful reflection of which is also observed in the growth of disrespectful attitudes towards teachers. The teacher is one of the pillars of the national ideology, inextricably linked with the process of strengthening our history, culture and statehood.
Therefore, the policy of respect, support and protection of him should become a priority of any state and public system.
The Republic of Armenia is obliged to create an environment in which teachers feel safe, valued and inspired to continue their mission.
