The question asked today by a journalist to the member of the Supreme Body of the RPA Taron Margaryan was: “Can you imagine yourself on the street?” This is not only funny, but also shows ignorance. Throughout its political history, the Republican Party has never shied away from the path of struggle. We have been and remain the political force that has always supported our citizens in difficult times, worthily representing and defending the interests of the state.
Our youth has always been supported by experienced politicians who were not leaders from afar, but actually participated in both the public struggle and street movements. During the days of the resistance movement, the 3rd President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan came to the tent, personally followed the processes and led the further steps.
On the street, in the trenches of struggle, there were also members of our families, including the sons of Taron Margaryan and relatives of our many Republican friends. It was a time when, by order of the current government, the rights of peaceful citizens were violated and brute force was used against their own people (including special measures).
Due to the modesty inherent in Republicans, Taron Margaryan never emphasizes his involvement, but in fairness we must state that the Republican Party was, is and will be on the streets when it is necessary to protect the dignity of the homeland.
PS: And a journalist who recalls the years of Republican rule can simply be asked whether he returned home on foot or by boat, as now, and whether he was afraid that Armenia might cease to exist, like Artsakh.
