As the retired President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan noted on behalf of our political force, the Republican Party is not waiting, but obeying. His Holiness’s exhortation is a very big thing, just an expression of will: we will be ready to protect our church on the street, on political platforms, with international ties, information support, and also on the street. Hayk Mamijanyan, head of the “I Have Honor” faction, said this during a parliamentary briefing.
“This does not mean shifting responsibility, simply taking into account the sacred value of the church, taking into account that it may never occur to some “miracles” that you are doing this for political dividends, we are humbly ready to serve our church, to protect our church in the way that the church will suggest to us, and the head of the church is His Holiness the Patriarch,” he noted.
Mamijanyan added that if His Holiness considers it necessary to protect the church through street protests, the Republican Party will be in the most dangerous place.
