Images of debris from an American SM-3 missile found in Turkey’s Hatay province have been published. The missile intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile in Turkish airspace.
Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Defense reported that an Iranian ballistic missile was intercepted in Turkish airspace. The missile was launched from Iranian territory, passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace, and headed toward Turkish airspace. The missile was destroyed by NATO air defense systems deployed in the Mediterranean.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, regarding the matter.
