Narek Samsonyan, head of the civil society organization “Civil Consciousness,” founder of the website AntiFake.am, and co-author and host of the podcast “Imnemnimi,” published an article from the Armavir penitentiary institution.
Good evening, people who love us dearly, and especially those who don’t. Yesterday, I watched the regime’s leader’s briefing, during which he stated: “Normal rules of political life must be established in the Republic of Armenia, where blasphemy no longer has a place…” One could laugh at the leader’s latest hypocrisy, if he hadn’t continued with the following sentence: “You’ll say that I’m also involved in this business (blasphemy), and you’ll be right. That’s why I go to church on Sundays, kneel before the altar, and ask forgiveness for my sins.”
In effect, the head of the regime is making yet another public confession, this time declaring to everyone that his blasphemy is “sanctioned” blasphemy, and that responding to his and his group’s blasphemy is a criminal offense. In short, their hypocrisy has long since degenerated into aggressive nihilism, where no agreements, no rules, no moral standards apply. In other words, how does this all work? Nikol and his group can blaspheme without facing criminal prosecution, since their words are not considered blasphemy by the investigative authorities, and then they openly admit to blasphemy, and again, no trial follows.
Thus, Nikol Pashinyan is putting the relevant investigators and prosecutors in an awkward position, who, for example, qualify my use of the word “ass” as obscene, but consider, for example, the same swindler calling us “puppies” and self-confessing… the leader’s curse words as pretty phrases that do not constitute a crime.
By the way, I declare with full responsibility that I personally have not sworn in public since March 22, 2024. Of course, not because I consider it criminally punishable (quite the contrary), but because for some reason, today I am in prison at the behest of a swindler whose powers of coercion exceed the professional self-esteem of some. Today I also learned that the swindler, who spits at people in public and then gets jailed, has also filed a civil lawsuit against me for the same words uttered in the same podcast. The level of cynicism in this surpasses the imagination of even the most inventive people. Ask him if it’s permissible to use these words now, or in civil law, about “hero,” or if it’s possible to appeal the same case to The Hague Court again? And these pathetic steps are being taken by those in power, who, imagine the situation they’ll find themselves in if they lose… The authorities.
This is all the splendor and misery of Nicholas Armenia, under whose cover the regime, its leader, and a small group hide. In one place, a man says, “I’ve cursed, and that’s why I’m going to church,” while in another, the same man orders people to be jailed for the word “buttocks.” Stay healthy while you can…
