India reports another violation of fire by Pakistan along the Line of Control

India has reported another violation of fire by Pakistan along the Line of Control in the border area of the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, according to Lieutenant Colonel Sunil Barthwal, spokesman for the Indian Ministry of Defence’s public relations department.

“On the intervening night of April 30-May 1, 2025, Pakistan Army posts opened unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control opposite Kupwara, Uri and Akhnoor in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” Barthwal said, as quoted by the Hindustan Times.

He said the Indian military “responded proportionately.”

New Delhi has been recording Pakistani military firing along the Line of Control every day for a week since the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior military officers from India and Pakistan held talks on Tuesday, with the Indian side protesting the firing on the border. India warned Pakistan against unwarranted ceasefire violations by the Pakistani army along the Line of Control.
