Iran sends letter to EU calling for resumption of nuclear talks: media

Iran has sent a letter to the EU calling for resumption of nuclear talks, RIA Novosti reports.

“Iran is ready to resume ‘honest’ talks on its nuclear program if the West shows goodwill,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote in a letter to EU Foreign Minister Kaje Kallas after three European friends initiated the process of restoring UN sanctions against Tehran.

Earlier on Thursday, Axios reported, citing diplomats, that three European countries — France, Germany, and the United Kingdom — had notified members of the UN Security Council of the launch of the mechanism to restore sanctions against Iran.
