Iran to File UNSC Complaint Over Trump’s Latest Statements

Iran will file a formal complaint with the UN Security Council over recent statements by US President Donald Trump that violate international law, Tasnim reported.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said in a post on the X social media platform that the massive turnout of Iranians at the rally to mark the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was a strong response to Trump’s latest threats against the country.

“Iran will firmly defend its security and national interests,” Gharibabadi wrote.

He added that as part of the legal action, Iran will register a protest letter as an official document of the UN Security Council, condemning the US president’s statements as contrary to international law and the UN Charter.

President Donald Trump previously said that he would prefer a nuclear deal with Iran to “hellish bombings.”
