Iran calls on US President-elect Donald Trump to abandon his hostile policy towards Tehran, which he pursued during his first term as head of state, the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic’s government Fatemeh Mohajerani said at a weekly briefing.
“The policy of maximum pressure on Iran, which Donald Trump pursued, has failed completely. We suggest that the Trump government reconsider its mistaken policy. The government is developing various strategies for economic response [to possible new restrictions from the US] and seeks to fully ensure national interests in line with the high ideals of the Islamic Revolution,” she said.
