Iran vice president proposes to establish international organization in Middle East

Iran’s Vice President Mohammad Javad Zarif has proposed the establishment of a Muslim West Asian Dialogue Association (MWADA) to create stability in the region and strengthen cooperation between regional players.

“My experiences have taught me that achieving stability in West Asia, particularly the Persian Gulf region, requires more than mere crisis management. It demands bold, visionary initiatives,” Zarif wrote in an article for The Economist magazine.

According to the Iranian politician, this new initiative shall unite all the Muslim countries of the Middle East on a platform based on shared religion, collective security, and the principle of non-interference.

The main priorities of MWADA, as noted by the vice president of Iran, should be the solution of all crises in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, and countering the external interference of non-regional players.

MWADA will provide fertile ground for infrastructure projects, from transportation to energy pipelines and telecommunications networks. The organization will also prioritize cultural exchanges, cooperation on water management, counterterrorism, and media campaigns to promote harmonious coexistence,” Zarif emphasized.
