Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref assessed the likelihood of a meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump, saying that this meeting is not currently on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehr reports.
Regarding Trump’s statements about his readiness to hold talks with the Iranian president, Mohammad Reza Aref said that the strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have always been consistent.
Regarding nuclear activities, Iran believes that all countries should make maximum use of peaceful nuclear activities, Aref said, adding that Muslims are prohibited from using nuclear weapons.
“Iran’s constant strategy is that we will not engage in nuclear weapons, but we will continue our activities in high-tech priority areas,” he said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump made a statement about Iran.
“I want Iran to be a great and successful country, but one that cannot have nuclear weapons. Reports that the United States, acting in concert with Israel, is going to smash Iran to smithereens are WAY EXAGGERATED.
I would prefer a verified nuclear peace deal that allows Iran to grow and prosper in peace. We should start working on it immediately and have a big Middle East party when it is signed and completed. God bless the Middle East!” the US President wrote on Truth Social.
