Israel asks the ICC to revoke Netanyahu’s arrest warrant

Israel has asked the International Criminal Court to remove Prosecutor Karim Khan from proceedings related to Israel and to revoke the arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, the Israeli Foreign Ministry press service announced, according to TASS.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the request was submitted in response to information that the prosecutor acted improperly, motivated by personal motives, in bringing false and unfounded charges against Israel.

Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) demanded the arrest of Mohammed al-Deif, the commander of the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement. It also issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
