Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ noted that it is impossible to fight God, and considers those who do so to be losers.
“It is impossible to fight God. And those who fight God are always losers. The Lord conquers them, perhaps not immediately, not instantly, so as not to create the illusion of some kind of deception, but gradually, so as to become invisible. The hand of God is at work. But it works in such a way that everyone, studying history and carefully observing life around them, can say: ‘Lord, You are God,'” Patriarch Kirill said in his sermon after the Divine Liturgy.
“This is a testimony of our faith. It must be accompanied by changes in our lives, because if we testify to Orthodoxy, its beauty, its significance, its historical significance in spiritual and cultural terms, but do not ourselves testify to what the Church offers, then, of course, our word will be weak. I address these words primarily to the clergy. “Every Orthodox person must testify with their life, word and deed to the truth of God, to the power of God in human weakness,” he noted.
