Kilauea volcano erupts in Hawaii

Kilauea volcano on Hawaii island—also known as the Big Island—erupted Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The eruption started at 2:20am local time and continued for most of the day. There is no immediate threat to people’s lives or infrastructure, the USGS added,

The eruption considerably decreased from 3pm to 4pm until now, and apparently, it has stopped.

Kilauea is one of the largest and most active volcanoes in Hawaii. It last erupted in September.
