Kremlin: Iran has not asked Russia for military assistance, but Moscow supports Tehran

Iran has not asked Russia for military assistance, but Moscow’s support for Tehran is obvious, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that in military terms, firstly, Iran has not asked us for help. Secondly, even in the context of our agreement with Iran, there is no provision for mutual military assistance in such situations… But, in general, our support is obvious,” the Kremlin spox told RBC.

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, and this was followed by retaliatory measures by Iran. Military actions between the two countries are continuing to this day.
