Kremlin: Russia is in contact with Armenia on the situation around Samvel Karapetyan

The Russian authorities are in contact with their Armenian colleagues, including on the situation around the head of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, who was arrested in Yerevan. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, Kommersant reports.

“Yes, of course, well and so, we are in contact with our partners in Armenia, in Yerevan. This is our important ally. We have very developed and very multidisciplinary relations. And of course, since Karapetyan is also a citizen of the Russian Federation, the relevant contacts are being carried out,” the Kremlin representative told journalists.

Commenting on the statements of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about preventing a coup d’etat in the republic, Dmitry Peskov said that this is an internal matter for the country. “Of course, we are interested in maintaining law and order in Armenia. “And for Armenia to be a prosperous, stable country, friendly to Russia,” the Russian leader’s press secretary noted.
