Lavrov indicated that the ball in Russia’s contacts with the new US president is in Trump’s court

The ball in the contacts between the Russian Federation and the elected US President is in Donald Trump’s court. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, TASS reports.

“We respect any choice made by people during the vote. We respect the choice of the American people,” Lavrov noted. He also emphasized that, as President Vladimir Putin said, Russia is and has always been open to contacts with the current administration. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that everything will become clear when Donald Trump takes office, and, according to Vladimir Putin, “the ball is in their court.”

The minister emphasized that Moscow has never interrupted its contacts and ties in trade, economics, security and other areas.
