Lithuania will strengthen control over cargo transportation from the EU to Russia and Belarus

Lithuanian customs tightens control over exports from the EU and begins physical checks of dual-purpose goods after EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus.

We are talking about cargo that can be used for military purposes or for the production of products for military purposes. Special attention will be paid to the export of electronic products, such as chips, microchips and other electronic components.

Goods subject to sanctions regulation, such as medical diagnostic equipment, various mechanisms and their details, will also be subject to strict control.

The department reminded that about 90% of all goods exported from the EU to Russia and Belarus pass through the border of these countries with Lithuania.
