Maduro orders 25,000 troops to Colombia border

Venezuelan President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Nicolas Maduro has ordered the deployment of 25,000 troops to the border with Colombia, as well as on the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts. This was reported by TASS.

He stressed that “the main purpose of the mobilization is to defend national sovereignty, the security of the country and the fight for peace.”

US President Donald Trump had stated that Venezuela was not making sufficient efforts to combat drug trafficking.
