No one has deprived me of my freedom, nor can anyone deprive me of my freedom, because neither my life nor my freedom are in your power. His Holiness Bagrat

No one has deprived me of my freedom, nor can anyone deprive me of my freedom, because neither my life nor my freedom are in your power,” His Holiness Bagrat stated in court today.

“I am ashamed that we are raising the issue of detention here when my brothers, with whom I shared bread and salt, are now suffering there (in a Baku prison). I would like to express special gratitude to Tigran, the son of former Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan, for giving me the opportunity to once again share bread and salt with the esteemed president, this time in my cell. While he was in Baku, I was in Yerevan, not Stepanakert.

For me, the so-called change in the conditions of detention means collaborating with the court, with the forces of evil. “I will not accept house arrest. I have no home, no bail, no electronic device, and no travel ban, which is the most offensive thing of all. And you should not consider changing the conditions of my detention. The only option is to leave,” the bishop declared.

The court decided to extend Bishop Bagrat’s detention for two months.
