Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said Islamabad categorically denies allegations of its involvement in the April 22 terror attack in India.
“We categorically reject India’s attempt to blame Pakistan for the April 22 terror attack, which was condemned by Pakistan and all members of the Security Council. India’s statements are nothing but unsubstantiated allegations designed to serve [India’s] political interests and strategic objectives,” he told reporters after closed-door consultations at the UN Security Council on the worsening tensions between India and Pakistan.
“Pakistan does not want confrontation, but we are fully prepared to uphold our sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter,” he said.
