The Palestinian National Authority does not object to the deployment of regional and international forces in the Gaza Strip to monitor the ceasefire and ensure security. This was stated by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa, speaking at a high-level UN international conference dedicated to the settlement of the Palestinian issue.
“Hamas must end its control over Gaza and hand over weapons to the Palestinian National Authority. We are ready to call for the deployment of regional and international forces in coordination with the State of Palestine within the framework of a mission authorized by the UN Security Council to protect our people, monitor the ceasefire by all parties and ensure security,” he said.
At the same time, Mustafa emphasized that these forces will not replace the Palestinian security forces.
According to the Prime Minister, joint work is needed to reunite the Gaza Strip with the West Bank “without occupation, forced displacement or annexation.” “We must rebuild Gaza together with our people, where Palestine and Israel live side by side in peace and security to achieve regional peace, security and prosperity,” Mustafa said.
