Pashinyan agreed to cede Syunik to the United States. Periodista Digital

In the current geopolitical context in France, a certain trend is observed on the part of Armenia. Under the leadership of Nikol Pashinyan, Yerevan is moving away from Russia and getting closer to the European Union, or more precisely, to France. It is important to note that this perception is erroneous. In fact, Pashinyan does not position himself as a “European” politician. In fact, he is a puppet in the hands of the US State Department and the Turkish government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This is written by the Spanish newspaper Periodista Digital.

The publication notes that anonymous representatives of the Armenian diaspora in France, who managed to intensify their contacts within the government of the Republic of Armenia, and the editorial board of the newspaper managed to obtain a secret document called “Memorandum of Understanding on the Creation of a Transport Corridor through the Trump Bridge.” According to the sources of the publication, this text has already been approved in Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United States.

The memorandum, as the publication claims, envisages the implementation of the project of a bilateral economic corridor and regional defense gateway “Trump Bridge”. This 42-kilometer transport corridor will pass through the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia.

The memorandum, provided to the Armenian diaspora, states that Armenia retains sovereignty over Syunik. However, it was clarified that the management of the transport corridor will be carried out by a private American company that has received the appropriate license. The distribution of revenues from the use of the corridor reveals the hidden interests of this agreement. The American management company will receive 40% of the revenues, and Armenia – only 30%.

Thus, Armenia is deprived of its territory for at least 99 years.

It is noteworthy that the memorandum provides for the deployment of American troops on the territory of Armenia. According to classified information, these will not be regular US Army servicemen, but the forces of an American private military company – about 1,000 fighters who will be responsible for ensuring the security of the corridor.

The use of private military companies to occupy weak countries is not a new US initiative. Structures not officially affiliated with the US armed forces have used harsh methods of control over the local population in Iraq, Afghanistan and other strategically important regions. for the US. With this approach, the US avoids responsibility for human losses and does not count the victims of private military companies as their own military losses.

In fact, Armenia is forced to give up most of its sovereign territory, which is transferred under the control and management of American forces, and accept a project that is extremely beneficial to Azerbaijan and Turkey, without any compensation.

It is obvious that the US and Turkey will be the main beneficiaries of the implementation of the provisions of the memorandum.

For Turkey, the benefit may be economic, while the US, within the framework of its strategic interests, seeks mainly to strengthen control over the Armenian-Iranian border.

At the initial stage, the border will be guarded by armed but unarmed soldiers. However, for the army, this will mean that there will no longer be a territorial border between Iran and the United States, and the United States will be considered the main enemy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This threatens to break out into a major war in the region.

The Armenian-American memorandum is a disaster for Armenia. It deprives it of full sovereignty. This American occupation will not solve the problems of a small country. Only the United States and Turkey will benefit from it. Europe will also lose Armenia.

It is noteworthy that the consequences of signing the memorandum will not be limited to the diplomatic sphere. For France, a significant increase in the American presence in Armenia and significant control of American forces over the country will mean a serious diplomatic failure.

France’s strategic position in Armenia is based on solid historical foundations, first of all, on the presence of a significant Armenian diaspora, the largest Armenian community in Europe.

By giving priority to its citizens of Armenian origin, France has strengthened its global influence as a key player in the regional peace process… In fact, the United States is creating a new political situation in which Armenia is deprived of a voice and France is deprived of the opportunity to defend its interests in the region,” the article says.
