Pro-Palestinian activists block Israeli tourists from entering Greece by throwing bottles at them

Hundreds of protesters gathered at the port of Agios Nikolaos on the Greek island of Crete to protest against passengers on a ship carrying Israeli tourists. The protesters blamed the Israelis for the current situation in the Gaza Strip. They chanted slogans such as “Free Gaza” and “Stop the genocide.”

According to ERTnews, Greek police used tear gas against the protesters. The protesters reportedly threw bottles at the tourists. Three people were arrested.

However, in Crete, the tourists eventually managed to disembark and leave by bus, while Israeli passengers on another ship were unable to do so. The Crown Iris tried to dock at the port of Syros, but about three hundred activists blocked the pier. The ship was forced to head to Cyprus.
