At the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone conversation took place between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
As reported by the Kremlin press service, the main focus was on the aggravated situation in the Syrian Arab Republic. Large-scale aggression by terrorist groups and gangs is assessed as aimed at undermining the sovereignty, political and socio-economic stability of the Syrian state.
Unconditional support was expressed for the actions of the legitimate authorities of Syria to restore constitutional order and territorial integrity of the country, and the importance of coordinating efforts within the Astana format with the participation of Turkey was emphasized.
Topical issues of developing Russian-Iranian cooperation in various areas were discussed, including taking into account the agreements between Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian following the talks in Kazan on October 23, 2024.
A plan for further contacts between the two leaders at other levels was outlined.
