Today, October 9, at approximately 12:05 AM, an altercation and knife attack occurred at the Abovyan department of the Main Department of Public Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in the Kotayk region. Further operational information was received that a citizen was taken to the Abovyan Medical Center with a knife wound.

Vardan Khachaturyan, Head of the Kotayk Region Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Department of Public Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Poghosyan, Head of the Kotayk Police Department, and Arsen Sargsyan, Deputy Head of the Department, went to the hospital.

On the spot, it was determined that the information received was accurate.

Medics arriving at the scene reported to the police that the injured man had been admitted with a diagnosis of “slash and stab wounds to the face, chest, and anterior abdominal wall.” He was unable to explain what had happened because he was in surgery.

While doctors struggled to save the victim’s life, police identified the victim as 20-year-old Shant Kh., a resident of the Kotayk region, who had been taken to the hospital by his father.

Criminal and public police officers established that on October 8, at approximately 11:10 PM, a quarrel over personal animosity occurred between hospitalized Shant Kh. and residents of the Kotayk region: 20-year-old Hrachya Kh., 20-year-old Lernik A., 16-year-old Minas G., 19-year-old Vardges S., 19-year-old Asatur Kh., as well as residents of the Kotayk region: 17-year-old Amur A., 20-year-old Virab A., 17-year-old Rafik A., 17-year-old Karen E., and 16-year-old Hayk K., during which one of the participants struck Shant Kh. with a sharp object he was carrying.

The Abovyan Investigative Department has opened a criminal case regarding the incident, and the necessary measures are being taken to identify the perpetrators and the knife used as the murder weapon.

According to the photojournalist, the victim is the son of Hayk Bosha, a well-known figure in Abovyan. His father previously worked in the National Security Service, so why is he called Hayk Bosha? After all, he installs car alarms, as they say.
