Relatives of missing persons met with Pashinyan today

Relatives of missing persons met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today, August 23.

One of the parents, Liparit Tovmasyan, said that the meeting lasted an hour and a half, but he left halfway through, not satisfied with Pashinyan’s answer.

“I asked where our children were, who were forcibly disappeared and unknown. Pashinyan answered that it was unknown, we are dealing with this issue. After signing the peace agreement, he did not give us any information about where our children were and when they would return, he said that he did not know, and that’s it,” he said.

Tovmasyan said that the authorities are demanding documents that the parents cannot provide. According to him, he is also personally dissatisfied with the work of the investigative body. “I received a message from my son’s phone in Messenger, they say that perhaps a Turk took it and wrote it. I say that this is my son’s iPhone, which had a fingerprint and a code, this is simply impossible. If they had cracked the code, Messenger and other hacked apps would have automatically logged out. So my son is alive, I am 100 percent sure that my child is alive. I have not been able to confirm this for 5 years. Nikol Pashinyan trusts the Turk more than us.” According to Liparit Tovmasyan, after today’s meeting, he no longer has any expectations from these authorities. “Nikol Pashinyan does not say anything specific, does not say: wait a month, a year, and you will have data on your children or something else, he says: wait for the commission, that is why our father cursed this commission. Abazyan at least worked normally with us, but he was fired. And we do not even know the new director of the National Security Service, we do not know what he does. They are more interested in putting the rich in jail than in quickly finding our children.”
