On September 30, at 3:00 a.m., a 40-year-old foreign man living on Vardanants Street in the capital contacted the Yerevan Criminal Police Department.
According to the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, he reported that around midnight, four or five men approached him, grabbed him, beat him, and forced him into a car. One of them threatened to kill him and his family if he didn’t tell them where his money was. He called his son, who gave one of them cryptocurrency worth $250,000 and $50,000.
The collected documents were transferred to the Investigative Department of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, where a criminal case has been opened.
As a result of investigative operations conducted by criminal police officers, it was established that the robbery was committed by men aged 40, 44, 30, and 47, all fellow residents of the victim.
They were found the same day, detained at 6:00 PM, and taken to the prosecuting authority.
Efforts are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the incident and recover the stolen property.
