Russia has never supported ending dialogue with Japan: Peskov

Russia has never supported ending dialogue with Japan, stated Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
He noted that relations with Tokyo have been reduced to zero today, and there is no dialogue between the countries.

“Russia has never supported ending this dialogue. The dialogue was interrupted at Tokyo’s initiative,” Peskov told reporters, responding to a question about the Kremlin’s assessment of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s statements about her desire to sign a peace treaty with Russia.

As a reminder, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, speaking in the lower house of parliament, stated that Japan intends to sign a peace treaty with Russia despite the poor state of relations.
