The conflict between Iran and Israel is turning into not only an escalation of tensions, but also a serious threat to the region and the whole world, as attacks are being carried out on nuclear infrastructure facilities, and the nuclear threat is practically taking on tangible proportions, stated Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
“All this will lead not only to an escalation of the conflict, but also to an immediate threat to regional and world peace, since the attacks are aimed at peaceful atomic or nuclear facilities,” Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.
She emphasized that Iran has and will continue to have the right to its own nuclear facilities, and attacks on them pose a global threat.
Zakharova added that the nuclear threat is of real importance in this conflict.
“In this case, we are talking about a nuclear threat, which is not at all hypothetical, but rather practical,” noted the Russian MFA spox.
On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, and this was followed by retaliatory measures by Iran. Military actions between the two countries are continuing to this day.
